New Telephone System Feature: Check and Cancel your Appointments

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the new Check and Cancel appointment feature on our telephone system, starting on the 7th of May.

This new feature is designed to provide added convenience for our patients, enabling you to check and cancel appointments both during and outside regular hours and prevent you from waiting in the telephone queue.

How will this work?

When calling the surgery, you will be greeted with Mendip Vale’s welcome message and offered to use the new automated service to check and cancel appointments by pressing 1.

This system will then prompt you to input your date of birth for identification purposes and give you simple instructions to either check or cancel your appointments. If you prefer speaking with a staff member, just hold on, and you'll be directed to the main menu for assistance.

You can check or cancel appointments up to 14 days in advance, but please note that cancellations are not possible within 1 hour of the appointment time.  For added convenience, if you check an appointment, you'll receive a text message with the details.

Once you have checked or cancelled your appointment the call will automatically end. If for any reason the check and cancel service fails, you will be redirected to the main menu.
